Single press release: Euphrasie presents Hollow Reverie, the debut single by London-based artist Miles Lukoszevieze.
After drip-fed releases yet consistent live excursions with sister projects Red Mar and Vostok, here he reveals a personal lamentation that is at once explorative and technical in its timbral devolution, while still maintaining the unabashed intensity and emotional undercurrents which have shaded, woven together and come to define these other projects.
The piece was originally conceived as an octophonic sound installation exhibited at Gallery 46, London, February 2024, titled 'Hollow Reverie_0'. Utilising harmonium, sine tones, feedback, field recordings and granular synthesis as part of a broader composition containing disparate movements which explored internal/external sound. Albeit as far more deconstructed forms than what is heard here, ones which reflected the liminality of the space they occupied. Now in stereo format, we present the climactic title track to this installation as it was originally envisioned, from without and within Hollow Reverie”

Exhibition program note: “This is an octophonic composition exploring the revelation of internal sounds from field recordings, sine tones, noise and live instrumentation. Comprised of three acts, featuring a recurring motif of contrasting ‘natural / unnatural’ timbres. A conflict of duality is revealed through raw sound samples transformed via harmonic layering with granular synthesis. Accompanying this work is a series of polaroids, holding atmospheres of liminality, intimacy and oblique distance.”
