Back Anatomy of Breath, Pt.2
The first in a three-part interdisciplinary project by MUON, the duo of sound artists and musicians Travis Yu and Miles Lukoszevieze. It was staged under a blackbox theatre for its first realisation at Chisenhale Dance Space on December 14th 2025 for the London events series Eternal, curated by Sasha Elina. In the piece, the artists revealed a correlation between movement and sound that evidenced a physicality to Breath. Featuring woodwind instruments, voice, and live electronics, they unearthed sonic textures beyond traditional music-making and presented a new intersection of performance under a dramaturgic approach. While each gesture shared symbiotic threads under the cloud of electroacoustic manipulation; both performers were enveloped in their own isolated vacuum. Made only more redolent by the silent body moving, stifled against a collage of respiratory recordings.
MUON emerged in 2023 as a duo project of sound artists and musicians Miles Lukoszevieze and Travis Yu, who met during their studies at the London College of Communication. They bonded over their shared passion for all things ambiguous and the in-between. Hugely improvisational, the project explores interconnected avenues of electroacoustic work, noise, and experimental music. Miles’ emotive and dichotomic soundscapes, in conjunction with Travis’ at times visceral, at times ethereal voice, create a rich and hauntingly reverberant atmosphere. As two distinct emerging artists, they challenge, assimilate, and appropriate the norms of sound making across disciplines and genres, to construct a new set of vocabularies for sonic gesturing through music performances.
